The $15 pair
Built to hit a price. That usually means injection-molded PC or ABS plastic, tinted (often non-polarized or film-laminated) lenses, and hinges molded directly into the plastic. Nothing is documented, and when a hinge goes, the pair goes. They solve the price problem by cutting the only parts that matter.
The $200 pair
Frequently a very similar construction — cellulose acetate or injected plastic, decent polarized lenses — plus a license fee for the logo on the temple, designer marketing, and boutique retail margin. The frame itself is rarely 5× better than a well-made mid-priced pair; the brand is what costs 5× more. Most "luxury" eyewear is produced by a small number of contract manufacturers that also make mid-priced lines.

So are expensive sunglasses worth it?
If you're paying for optics, materials and build — partly, up to a point. If you're paying for a logo, mostly no: much of a luxury price tag is licensing and markup that never touches your face.
